GeoDataMine is a geological data science stack for searching and analyzing large geological databases.

Mission statement

The goal of GeoDataMine is to compile all Canadian geological information into a single resource connected to powerful AI assistants via an intuitive chatbot interface.

GeoDataMiner AI Assistant

Custom OpenAI Assistant for searching Ontario's Assessment Files and Reports databases.

GeoDataMiner uses an intuitive chat interface to query the Assessment Files SQL database and search the ~100,000 associated Assessment Report pdfs.

Features / Usage:
  • Query input: Use the text box to ask questions or related to the Assessment Files and Reports databases. The assistant will formulate database queries from your input requests.
  • Chat history: Thread history is maintained for individual accounts.
  • Thread management: Start a new thread with 'New thread' button, and delete active thread with 'Delete thread' button.
  • Model selection: Choose which AI model to use for queries.
  • File upload/download: Upload a document for analysis (coming soon...), and download compiled output files.
  • Verbose output: Show/hide detailed information on underlying behavior by selecting the 'Verbose output' box.

GeoDataMiner Text-based Search

Text-based keyword and phrase searching of Ontario's Assessment Files and Reports databases.

Search Assessment Files SQL database and search the ~100,000 associated Assessment Report pdfs for keywords and phrases.

Features / Usage:
  • Query algorithm: Results are returned for all query keyword/phrase occurrences (using AND operator) for individual pdf pages and ranked by occurrences.
  • Query syntax: keyword1 keyword2 "phrases inside double-quotes"
  • Meta data: Pdf meta data and available geolocation data included
  • Download to csv: Output results to csv.
